Do You Remember These? Many Find Mysterious Tools In His Grandparents’ Home

A young man recently found something of interest while rummaging through his late grandparents’ belongings.

Until they looked up information about these metal things online, the two had no idea what they were.

The metal implements in question are nutcrackers. This nutcracker, which dates back to the ’40s or ’50s, was designed to remove the nut from its shell.

It’s customary practice to use them when eating chestnuts, but they’re useful for cracking open any nut.

Sets of seafood tools that featured a nutcracker like this one also typically included a shell-cracking tool and a pick for removing the meat.

It was common to find the nutcrackers paired with a chestnut-shaped wooden dish.

Many of us have happy recollections associated with the use of similar equipment in the homes of our grandparents.

Have you ever used anything like these nutcrackers or picks?

Share some of your most cherished recollections of them and make sure to SHARE this article and confuse the younger generation!
