Woman Gives Birth To A Baby Daughter With Rare Condition And Is Puzzled When Adoptive Family Won’t Take Her
Every parent wants what’s best for their children. But life is not always rainbows and sunshines: sometimes parents cannot provide best care for their little ones due to many obstacles, mainly financial.
A woman from Florida, Christina Fisher got pregnant at 36. But no matter how much she wanted to have a kid, it just wasn’t possible with her financial situation and no place to live. Raising a child was not an option for her.
She had to do one of the most difficult things a parent does: she gave the little one for adoption. Just the though of being separated from her bundle of joy was heartbreaking, but that was the best thing for her daughter…
What Christina didn’t know was that Abigail had a condition. All the ultrasounds showed that the little one had normal development, but when the adoptive parents saw her and her distinctive looks, they didn’t want her anymore.
Abigail was diagnosed with Treacher Collins syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by distinctive abnormalities of the head and face. Craniofacial abnormalities tend to involve underdevelopment of the zygomatic complex, cheekbones, jaws, palate and mouth which can lead to breathing and feeding difficulties.
The condition made Abigail different than the rest of the children in the maternity ward, but Christina thought her baby was the most charming baby she’s ever seen.
However, the adoptive parents didn’t had the same opinion. They were very supportive and friendly while Christina was pregnant, but once they saw her, they disappeared almost instantly: “She came out crying… and left the hospital. We never heard from them again,” Christina said of the adoptive mother.
Christina made the decision: she will raise her daughter despite all the difficulties. NO one would love Abigail the way she does and she wanted to be there for her through thick and thin.
A lot of photos surfaced from Abigail, and many would agree that every single child is beautiful in their own, unique way.
The story about this sweet, charming girl spread online and they even got a donation of $20,000 through her GoFundMe page.
Some might think this is a “curse” for a family, but it was actually a blessing in disguise, exposing that no one should raise this beautiful bundle of joy but her mother Christina.
We wish them all the best!
