Teabags: 7 DIY Solutions That Demonstrate Why You Should Never Throw A Used Teabag Again

Nothing compares to coffee in the morning. I always have a cup to start the day. However, I typically go for tea in the evenings.

After adding a bag of your preferred brew, of course, you quickly have a hot cup ready after starting the kettle.

A few minutes later, you take out the bag, throw it in the garbage, and sip the tea.

However, I haven’t thrown out any tea bags since my grandmother showed me some creative ways to use them.

Take a look at these creative ways to reuse leftover tea bags by scrolling down. They’re quite useful, and you might even end up saving some cash down the road.

1. Soothe sunburns

Rinse a tea bag containing black tea with cold water.

When you get sunburned in the summer or while traveling overseas, it will become your new best buddy. Tannic acid, which is found in black tea, promotes skin healing and provides a long-lasting cooling effect.

2. Relieve minor burns

The same tea bags used to treat sunburns can be used in an emergency.

Put a tea bag on the burned area if you inadvertently burn yourself. Minor burns are also relieved by the tannins in black tea.

3. Get rid of warts

Did you know that the antioxidants in green tea help stop warts from developing? Once it has cooled, take a used tea bag and lay it over the wart.

After fifteen minutes, take out the teabag and put a fresh one in. Give the second one fifteen more minutes. After a few days, your wart will disappear.

4. Put an end to puffy eyes

Additionally, black tea’s tannins can help reduce puffy bags under your eyes.

Save the teabag for the next time you have a cup of tea. Store it in the refrigerator for a day or two after putting it in a small container. Then, take a few tea bags out of your fridge when you feel like it’s time to take action regarding the bags under your eyes.

5. Remove grease stains

Do you allow your dishes to soak because of stains that won’t go away?

Simply put dirty dishes and water in your sink. After that, toss some tea bags into the water. It will be much simpler to get rid of the stains.

6. Weed killer

You can make a weed-killing mixture out of a bag of tea.

Make a tea recipe with tea, water, and citrus (grapefruit or orange), or try applying brewed black tea on weeds. Tip Hero also suggests using black tea soaked in an orange-rind vinegar container as a spray.

7. Fertilizer

Both loose-leaf teas and compostable tea bags can be buried around plants, in addition to being used as fertilizer in the compost bin.

Houseplants, garden plants like ferns, and roses all adore it. To use the tea bags for plant growth right around the root system, you can also dig the tea bags or loose leaves in around the plants.
