5th Grader Assigned Charlie Kirk Homework At School — Dad’s Fiery Reaction Goes Viral Online
For all the wrong reasons, an elementary school student’s assignment went viral on social media.
In a TikTok video, a father disclosed that his fifth-grader received an assignment last week called “The Life of Charlie Kirk.”
The educational system came under fire from many users for permitting young children to be taught such “inappropriate” material.
“I would be pulling my child from that class so fast, then get that teacher fired. They clearly care more about pushing hateful rhetoric on children than actually getting an education,” wrote one user.

In the brief viral clip, the father shared the content of his son’s controversial school assignment
On September 10, Charlie Kirk, a political analyst and right-wing conservative, was killed in a public discussion at the University of Utah.
The same day he was struck in the neck, he died from his wounds.
The dad, who goes by the username @neeltheillest, provided a detailed analysis of his child’s assignment regarding the late political activist in the 14-second TikTok video.
The purpose of the six-page pamphlet was to inform pupils about Kirk’s life, views, and philosophies.
The title was bolded on the opening page, with a black-and-white drawing of Charlie taking up the majority of the page.
When it was opened, a brief biography of the 31-year-old, emphasizing his conservative Christian views, was on the first page on the left.
“Charlie believed young people had the power to shape the future,” read one of the sentences.
The six-page leaflet, titled The Life of Charlie Kirk, was designed to teach students about his conservative ideologies and beliefs
While flipping through the pages, the father asked his son, “What did the teacher say when she gave it to you?”
The child replied, “She was sad.”
The next page featured a true-or-false quiz, with one of the questions reading, “Many people remember Charlie for his faith, his dedication to helping young people, and his belief that one person can make a difference.”
Additionally, students might put their responses in multiple boxes on a summary graphic titled “The Life and Legacy of Charlie Kirk.”
It had details about his work path, fascinating facts about him, and his birth and death dates.
A reading comprehension exercise on the second-to-last page invited the kids to share their opinions on things like “the main purpose of Turning Point USA,” the impact of Charlie’s “Christian faith,” and “some ways people remember” him today.
Charlie was attacked by an armed assailant during a debate at a university as part of his American Comeback Tour
Kirk established the non-profit group Turning Point USA in 2012 with the goal of promoting conservative ideas on college, university, and high school campuses.
The leaflet’s final page included a writing exercise asking children to compose “kind words” for the late right-wing pundit.
The video, captioned “The homework they’re giving 5th-grade kids in elementary school. ‘The Life of Charlie Kirk,’” has garnered over 6.3 million views on the platform.
Nearly 43,000 people have voiced their disapproval of the assignment in the comment area, referring to the issue as “gross” and “weird” for fifth graders.
One user wrote, “And now we’re forcing his bigoted teachings on children? If my kid came home with this homework I would throw it in the trash and tell the teacher to call me.”
Another commented, “This is inappropriate on so many levels, age of the students, the religious aspect, a nobody being elevated to godlike status.”
Students were asked to express their views on the “purpose of Turning Point USA” and the influence of Christianity on Kirk’s life
“How is THIS not pushing an agenda… I would sue, Charlie Kirk has nothing to do with schools…”
Tyler Robinson, 22, attacked Kirk; he has since been taken into custody, charged with the crime, and his trial is still pending.
More than 90,000 people attended Charlie’s memorial ceremony on September 21 at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium.
The service was attended by prominent public figures, including Black American conservative Dr. Ben Carson, Republican House Representative Anna Paulina Luna, Elon Musk, Vice President JD Vance, and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Addressing the audience, Trump hailed Kirk as a “martyr,” saying, “None of us will ever forget Charlie. And neither now will history.”
Charlie’s wife, Erika Kirk, a former Miss Arizona, and their two young children survive him.
The teacher “was sad” when she handed out the assignment to the fifth graders, according to the child in the video
Soon after Charlie’s death, his advocacy group reached K–12 schools in addition to colleges.
Turning Point USA reports that the organization employs 48 representatives and has more than 1,000 chapters in high schools nationwide.
The U.S. Department of Education said in late September that it would be joining the group to form a partnership to create educational programs for colleges and universities ahead of America’s 250th birthday the following year.
In a press interview, Turning Point Education’s top education officer said that curricula nationwide would integrate Charlie’s “God-centered” values.
“[The organization] is more resolved than ever to advance God-centered, virtuous education for students flourishing across our nation.”
“America treating [Charlie] like he’s Jesus,” expressed one netizen, while another chimed in, “This is so disturbing.”
