12 Quotes From Anthony Bourdain We Will Never Forget

Devastating news were announced by CNN this morning: Anthony Bourdain, the legendary author and star of numerous TV shows, has died at the age of 61.

The network said Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room in Strasbourg where he had been at work on an episode of his CNN travel series “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.” CNN said it was apparent suicide.

CNN released a statement about his passing:

“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”

He is largely credited for defining an era of line cooks as warriors, exposing a kitchen culture in which drugs, drinking and long, brutal hours on the line in professional kitchens were both a badge of honor and a curse…
